One Man Revival Q&A

Your name:
Andy.

Where are you from?
Sunderland, England.

Name of band:
One Man Revival.

Who else is in your band?
Kyle Smith & Wayne Glaister.

How would you describe yourselves?
Kind of a rock band with a subtle, mellow edge to our sound at times… I didn’t want to be tarnished with the ‘one trick pony’ brush, so we went out on a whim to do a bit of both acoustic and electric.
The band started off as an acoustic act, the ‘Revival’ part of the name is the other band members that have joined after this point.

Who are your main influences musically?
We’re all into different music genres really, I’m into more American rock (Jimmy Eat World, Foo Fighters etc) whilst Wayne is into Alice Cooper, Slade and the Stereophonics, with Kyle being into Biffy Clyro, Muse and Interpol! A band with many different musical tastes!

What do you hope to achieve in music?
We’re taking things one step at a time really, we’d love to be going on massive tours and going around Europe, but c’est la vie if it doesn’t happen!
As long as people keep coming to see us and keep singing along, that’s all that matters J!

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
We’ve played a fair few ‘good’ shows now, but the best place would be Montrose music Festival, the crowd there were just fantastic, best feeling I’ve ever had in music is watching strangers dance to your whole hour set. Unbelievable.

And what’s the moment you want to forget?
Erm, playing at the dog and parrot in Newcastle and as soon as our opening music came on, everyone left. We didn’t even play one second of music, just shows how fickle it can be at times!

If you had to pick just one of your songs to represent your music, what would  it be and why?
If I had to choose only one song I would choose ‘In The End’, It sums up the whole feel of the band totally. I wrote the riff whilst just messing around on Waynes house one night, the song was wrote from start to finish that night and it’s still our strongest song to date!

Where can we listen to it?

Where can we find out more about your music?

Anything else you’d like to say about your band/music that I forgot to ask?
Maybe not just about ourselves really, but to anyone that reads this. Support live and unsigned music, it’s not as easy for the ones you’ve never heard of if you don’t give them the chance as we need people in to keep us going!
